As the name implied, this expedition combines Jungle Trekking to reach the Carstensz Basecamp and Helicopter pick up service to enshorten your way back to Timika.

Note : Due to the local situation and for the safety reason, the trip now is closed. We suggest you to take the trip with Helicopter aprrove into basecamp.
Project Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Timika
- Our team member will meet and greet you in the airport.
- Transfer to your hotel.
- Dinner and team meeting
Day 2: Timika – Final Preparation
- Immigration Permit
- Checking gears and equipment.
- Overnight in Timika.
Day 3: Timika – Sugapa – Suwanggama
- After breakfast, take a flight with chartered plane to Sugapa District; operated by Trigana Air, Susi Air, Airfast Indonesia.
- On your arrival in Sugapa airport, you’ll be transferred to Suwanggama (the last village to Carstensz) by motorbike taxi.
- Overnight by camping in Suwanggama.
Day 4 – 8: Suwanggama – Base Camp
- Trekking through the interior of Papua from Suwanggama to base camp.
- Overnight by camping.
Day 9: Rest & Acclimatisation
- Free activity in the basecamp to acclimatise yourself.
- Overnight by camping in the basecamp.
Day 10: Summit Push
- Start trekking to the summit at 1 am. This will be a long and challenging day of 12-15 hours round trip.
- The route is relatively straightforward and follows a line up the north face. After scrambling approximately 500 meters over mostly solid rock we will break out on the summit ridge where lines will be fixed in preparation for our descent.
- Our route here follows the ridge crest with grand exposure along the way. We pass four small notches as we rappel and use ascenders to negotiate these tricky sections. Our descent entails multiple rappels and scrambling. We will be on good, clean rock that provi lhlg n

- Overnight by camping in the basecamp.
Day 11: Reserve Summit Days
Day 12 – 15: Base Camp – Sugapa
- Trekking back to Sugapa.
- Overnight by camping.
Day 16: Sugapa – Timika/Nabire
- After breakfast, take a flight to Timika.
- On your arrival in Timika, proceed to your hotel.
- Free time in Timika.
- Overnight in Timika.
Day 17: Timika – Bali
- After breakfast, check out and drive to the Timika airport.
- Take a direct flight to Bali; operated by Garuda Indonesia.
Departure at 11:20am. - Arrival in Bali at 13:45pm. Our team member will pick you up in the airport and transfer you to your hotel in Sanur.
- Farewell dinner in Bali.
- Overnight in Bali
Day 18: Departure (B)
- Check’out hotel the drive to airport. end of service

Our quotation includes:
- Chartered flight from Timika/Nabire to Sugapa.
- Chartered helicopter to pick you up from basecamp
- Two nights stay in Timika (one night before & one night after trip) based on twin share.

Please note that it excludes:
- International flight tickets to and from Bali airport (DPS).
- Domestic Flight from Bali – Timika – Bali
- Visa on arrival.
- Personal equipments for trekking & climbing.
- Personal insurance & cost for emergency evacuation.
- Personal excess baggage on domestic flights (luggage allowance is usually 20kgs/person).
- Personal expenses (laundry, phone call, mini bar in the hotel).
- Meals in Timika
- Costs associated with an expedition finishing early
- Costs for delays or extending a trip due to bad wheater or other circumstances
- Costs associated with you leaving an expedition early
- Gratuity for guide and field assistants.
Payment
The Expedition of Jungle Trekking to Carstensz Pyramid is offered at a price of 12.500 US Dollar /person (Minimum 5 person) . Please check our schedule of 2022 Expeditions to book your tent.
Terms of payment
- 3.000 USD deposit is required. (non-refundable)
- Balance due 40 days prior to departure date.
- If you would like to pay with Credit Card or PayPal, a 4.4% surcharge will be added to your balance. We would kindly advise you to compare the transfer fee between bank transfer and PayPal/credit card payment
